Hey bestie! Let’s talk about some skincare myths that seriously need to be busted. There’s so much bad advice out there, and I don’t want you falling for it! So, let’s break down some of the biggest skincare misconceptions and make sure your routine is on point.

MYTH: DRYING OUT YOUR SKIN WILL HELP WITH BREAKOUTS

Nope! Drying out your skin actually causes more breakouts. When your skin is too dry, it gets irritated and freaks out, leading to even more pimples. The key? Always moisturize—even if you have oily skin. Just find a lightweight, non-greasy one that works for you!

MYTH: HARSH PRODUCTS WILL CLEAR UP ACNE

Listen, scrubbing your face raw with intense cleansers isn’t doing you any favors. Overdoing it just makes your skin angry and inflamed. A gentle cleanser twice a day is all you need. And if you’re really struggling with acne, chat with a dermatologist or esthetician before reaching for the harsh stuff!

MYTH: YOU ONLY NEED SUNSCREEN IF YOU’RE OUTSIDE FOR HOURS

Girl, no. You need sunscreen every single day, rain or shine! UV damage happens even when you’re just driving, running errands, or sitting near a window. If your plants are thriving with indoor sunlight, trust me, your skin is getting exposure too. SPF 15 or higher is your skin’s best friend—wear it daily!

MYTH: TANNING HELPS CLEAR UP ACNE

It looks like tanning helps, but it’s actually making things worse. Tanning dries out your skin at first, but then your body overcompensates by producing more oil—cue more breakouts. Plus, UV exposure damages collagen, speeds up aging, and increases your risk of skin cancer. Not worth it!

MYTH: BREAKOUTS ARE ONLY CAUSED BY HORMONES AND HYGIENE

Breakouts aren’t just about washing your face and hormones—your diet plays a huge role too! Eating lots of processed foods and dairy can make acne worse. Try loading up on leafy greens, nuts, and foods rich in vitamins A and E. Your skin will love you for it!

MYTH: EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE!

Okay, exfoliating is great, but too much exfoliation is a disaster. Overdoing it strips away your skin’s natural protective barrier, making it easier for bacteria to get in and cause breakouts. Stick to exfoliating 2–3 times a week to keep that glow without damaging your skin.

So there you have it, bestie—skincare myths officially debunked! Now you can keep your skin happy and healthy without falling for bad advice. Stay glowing! ✨
